Stress and Acne
Information on the connection between stress and acne
Q. Are stress and acne related?
A. Definitely. Stress can aggravate acne symptoms because stress is emotionally and physically draining. Stress comes in many forms such as the ones listed below:
Emotional stress
Overwhelming workload
Health issues
Relationship / Financial / Family problems
Anxiety regarding an upcoming event
Physical stress
Lack of vitamins
Hectic lifestyle
Lack of sleep
Smoking
Drugs
Unhealthy diet
Drinking excessively
Some stress is healthy, but in this day and time, we are all busy and don't seem to have enough hours in a day to get everything done. When we try to do more than is physically possible our body will eventually make us stop and rest. When we get colds, flu and other sicknesses, our body is telling us we have to slow down, stop and rest. If we don't, it could lead to a more serious illness.
I know everything is important, but we need to prioritize what is important today, the next hour, before we go to bed, or whatever your schedule is. Ask yourself….. what will happen if "whatever it is you have to do" doesn't get done? Can it wait until tomorrow or another time? Can someone help me with it?
Take care of yourself and take some time to relax, you'll find that you will have more energy, you'll be more productive, and your skin just might be clearer. Make sure you use the acne regimen each day, it's your first line if defense to help control your acne.
