Using the wrong skin care product is not only a waste of money, but can also lead to irreversible skin conditions. In order to choose the most appropriate product for your skin, you must first determine whether you have dry, oily, a combination of the two, or normal skin.
Determine what type of skin type you have by taking a clean cloth or tissue and press it evenly against your face.
Pull the cloth away and carefully observe what it has picked up from the surface of your face.
If the cloth is clean all over, you have dry skin.
If the cloth contains traces of oil, you have oily skin.
If the tissue came away clean in some places and oily in others, you have combination skin.
If the tissue is most clean with minimal traces of oil, you have normal skin.

Dry skin is usually flaky and dull looking around the eyes and cheeks. Dry skin needs to be moisturized well.
Dry skin care products may be required for a number of reasons, but the main fact is that moisture is refulated by internal chemical reactions.
Even though many skin care products have added oils and other emollients, the underlying cause is usually due to some internal imbalance.
Wash your face with milk and oatmeal instead of ordinary soap The oatmeal acts as an exfoliate and the milk will moisturize your skin.

Oily skin has active sacous glands that secrete more oil, leaving the skin greasy and dull. It attracts a lot of dirt which then clogs the pores. You probably notice a constant sheen on your face, and probably deal with acne outbreaks on a regular basis.
Your skin definitely needs to be thoroughly cleaned to remove the surface grime and unclog pores using a non oily, water based product. It's also important to ensure your skin doesn't dry out.
Over washing your face with products that oveer dry your skin can cause your oil glands to overproduce.
A good remedy for oily skin is to scrub sugar against your skin until the sugar melts.
This is an excellent exfoliate that removes dead skin cells.
Wipe off your face with a lukewarm damp cloth.
